本書主要包括兩部分。第一部分的第一章系統(tǒng)地介紹了英文商務信函寫作的基本知識，第二至第十二章遵循外貿(mào)常規(guī)流程，依次介紹了業(yè)務關系的建立、資信調(diào)查、詢盤及回復、報盤、還盤和接受，支付方式、包裝、保險、裝運、索賠與理賠，代理等內(nèi)容。第二部分是附錄部分，內(nèi)容包括各個章節(jié)的樣信、對話的譯文及練習答案。本書的特色是，以兩個具體的模擬公司的一單生意，從建立外貿(mào)業(yè)務關系開始一直到索賠及代理，為主要線索，以外貿(mào)操作過程的各個環(huán)節(jié)所涉及的樣信為具體內(nèi)容，兩個公司對一單電子產(chǎn)品完整的貿(mào)易過程貫穿整本書，使讀者置身于一個業(yè)務操作環(huán)境中，對外貿(mào)信函的特點、實際運用過程有更透徹、更深刻的理解，具有實用性。同時，本書的練習題內(nèi)容全面，題型多樣，突出各個章節(jié)的重點。
