圖書簡介

隱喻的研究從古希臘時代開始就引起眾多學(xué)者的注意。亞里士多德將隱喻定義為“把屬于一事物的詞用到另一事物上”。古典傳統(tǒng)修辭學(xué)認(rèn)為隱喻是一種語言的“偏離”或“寄生”現(xiàn)象，獨(dú)立于人類認(rèn)知系統(tǒng)之外；其本質(zhì)是對語言的“裝飾”功能。因此，隱喻研究長期停留在語言修辭的層面，處于邊緣化狀態(tài)。隨著20世紀(jì)80年代認(rèn)知語言學(xué)的崛起，人類開始探索體驗(yàn)性認(rèn)知在語言的形成、發(fā)展和使用過程中所起的主導(dǎo)作用。倘若我們說認(rèn)知語言學(xué)是研究語言上的特征如何反映人類對客觀世界的認(rèn)知，那么隱喻則為我們提供了闡明這一關(guān)系的生動實(shí)例。《我們所賴以生存的隱喻》一書的出版，標(biāo)志著認(rèn)知隱喻理論的誕生，隱喻不再僅局限于一種話語現(xiàn)象，而是被提升到認(rèn)知的層次。隱喻研究從此有了質(zhì)的突破，進(jìn)入了跨學(xué)科、跨領(lǐng)域的時代。
