圖書簡介

高校英文寫作教材系列。全書分為四大部分。第一部分為英語寫作知識與技巧概述，引用語言學的新成果，分析對比了東西方不同民族的思維表達方式和習慣，提出了怎樣才能寫出地道英語的原則。第二、三部分介紹從句子到段落，再到篇章的寫作知識與技巧，讓學生通過知識與技巧的運用，實現(xiàn)用英語寫作短文、傳遞信息和表達思想的目標。第四部分介紹兩種特殊形式的英文寫作——文章概要和讀書報告的寫作，適應(yīng)大學英語教育的普遍要求。
本書有以下特點：
全書深入淺出，以第一人稱寫成，充分體了人文精神，讓使用者以平等的射份參與問題的討論，增強寫作地道英語短文的自信心。
各章節(jié)均配有大量練習，練習難易有致，教師和學生可以自由取舍，靈活選用。練習編排采用了“預(yù)測—實踐—效果檢測”三段循環(huán)式的科學方法。預(yù)測可以喚起讀者的求知欲；實踐使其熟悉寫作技巧，獲得真知；效果檢測既可起到復習鞏固所學寫作知識和技巧的作用，又可增強讀者提高寫作能力的自信心。
創(chuàng)造性地把標點符號的使用融入了文章整體性與連貫性的討論，改變了寫作書籍孤立對標點符號的傳統(tǒng)做法。
舉例多引自當代英美原著，但并不生搬硬套，這使全書既擺脫了中式英語的束縛又切合中國學生學習的實際需要。
