在2016考研英語中，層次化句子的閱讀法是一個相當重要的解題手段，想搞定2016考研英語，不懂層次化閱讀法怎么可以？下面都教授根據主句專一原則和非簡單句的分類原則，帶各位考生來一起學習一下。

首先大家要在心中明確這樣一個圖表，該圖形來表示非常簡單句的結構圖：

每一個方框表示一個分句，每一條線表示一個連接詞；這樣分句間的關系就只有兩種：一種是并列，一種是主從復合。在以往的閱讀過程中，我們往往會把主從復合句和并列句混淆，在句子解析的過程中沒有層次感，進而對于句子的把握出現差錯。同時在解析的過程中我們不需要考慮進結構圖，即句子中的狀語從句和同位語從句，因為這兩個部分都是完全可以脫離整個句子而存在的。

【例子1】

However , for many years , physicists thought that atoms and molecules always were much more likely to emit light spontaneously and that stimulated emission thus always would be much weaker.

【解析】這個句子中主句是physicists thought that ... and that ...用結構圖表示就是：

在理解的過程中可以分為兩個層次：但是，多年以來，物理學家思考了兩件事情，第一件事情是原子和分子通常都比較容易自行發光，第二件時間是收到刺激的發射通常比較弱。

【例子2】

It appeared that Canada was once more falling in step with the trend toward smaller  families that occurred through all we Western world since the time of the Industrial Revolution.

【解析】句子的分層結構是：It appeared that...that...結構圖就是這樣

1.It appeared that ...

可以發現

2.Canada was once more falling in step with the trend toward smaller families.

加拿大再一次陷入了往更小化家庭發展的趨勢。

3.that occurred through all the Western would since the time of Industrial Revolution

這種趨勢曾經在工業革命以來整個西方世界出現過。

【例3】
The history of clinical nutrition or the study of the relationship between health and how the body takes in and utilizes food substances , can be divided into four distinct eras : the first began in the nineteenth century and extended into the early twentieth century when it was recognized for the first time that food contained constituents that were essential for human function and that different foods provided different amounts of these essential agents.

【解析】

這個句子的分層結構是：The history of clinical clinical nutrition can be divided into four distinct eras:...when ..that ...that...and that...這個句子中or 后面的the study 為clinical nutrition 的同位語，可以先省略不看。
