今天我們來說一說考研英語的長難句，很多2016考研的人覺得長難句貌似只在英譯漢那部分會用到，其實不然，長難句可以說是貫穿著考研英語的各個題型，不論是閱讀還是作文，都有長難句的用武之地。而主語從句則是其中重要的一環，為打通長難句的“任督二脈”之必備功力，下面我們就來學習一下主語從句的相關知識。

主語從句的結構

1）關系連詞+句子+動詞

2）It+ be動詞+形容詞/名詞短語+關系連詞+句子

3）It+不及物動詞+that

【例1】It is generally agreed that a person of high intelligence is one who can grasp ideas readily, make distinctions, reason logically, and make use of verbal and mathematical symbol in solving problems.

【譯文】人們普遍認為，高智商的人有這樣一些特點：理解力強，辨別力強，邏輯推理能力強，并且在解決問題的過程中善于利用文字和數學符號。

【解析】這句話真正的主語是由關系連詞that引導的主語從句，這個句子之所以被放在后面，一是為了調整句子結構，讓句子平衡；同時也和英美人士的表達習慣有關，重要和完整的信息他們習慣在一開始就表達出來。首先表明，大家都持認同的態度，然后再說大家都認同什么事情。

It+ be動詞+形容詞+關系連詞+句子

在語言的發展中于是就有了這樣一些常見的表達，為了方便同學們在考試中更快地實現中英文的轉化，先將它們的常見中文表達羅列出來：

It is clear that…

……很顯然

It is possible that…

很可能……

It is likely that…

……很可能

It is natural that…

很自然……

It is certain that… 

……可以相信

It is strange that…

奇怪的是……

It is fortunate that…

幸運的是……

It is necessary that…

有必要的是……

我們知道，狀語在很多時候是修飾整個句子的，一些副詞可以提出來單獨翻譯，這個結構中的形容詞其實也是在修飾后面的整個句子，所以在表意的時候這個結構可以和一個副詞相互替換，比如：

It is clear that she is a liar.= She is clear a liar.

It is possible that these principles may be regarded as normal in years to come.= These principles may possibly be regarded as normal in years to come.

【例2】It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.( Pride and Prejudice)

【譯文】這是一個大家都認同的事實，一個有錢的單身男人一定渴望娶到一個可人的妻子。（《傲慢與偏見》）

【解析】這個句子的結構是：It+ be動詞+名詞短語+關系連詞+句子（主語從句）

由這個句子衍生出一系列的結構：

It is a pity that…

可惜的是……

It is a fact that…

事實是……

It is a good news that…

……真是個好消息

It is a good thing that…

 ……真是件好事

It is no wonder that…

難怪……

It is a shame that…

遺憾的是……/……真是太不像話了

……是常識

It is a miracle that…
