Zhang Liwen was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province in 1935. He began to work in RenminUniversity after 1956, the age when he got the bachelor’s degree of history. During the later years, Mr Zhang has been teaching in the department of philosophy with all his devotion. Since his distinguishing work, Mr Zhang got the special conferment of professor by the Academic Degree Committee of State Council in 1984. Now he is in a tutorial capacity of doctor, dean and academy chairman of the Institute of Confucianism Studies, head of the Institute of the philosophy of harmony-oriented and vice-president of the Research Association of Books of Changes.
