Lijin Xu was born in Qingdao, China. He studied chemistry in Qufu Normal University, and received in 1998, a PhD in Institute of Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. During 1998-2000 he held a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Leverhulme Centre for Innovative Catalysis, the University of Liverpool under the direction of Prof. Jianliang Xiao. After a one-year postdoctoral appointment in Loughborough University, he joined Prof. Albert S. C. Chan’s group as a research associate in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In August, 2005, he took up an professor position in Department of chemistry, Renmin University of China. His current interest mainly focuses on transition-metal catalyzed organic synthesis and green chemistry. He has published more than 60 research papers, which have been cited over 600 times.
