根據教育部的說法，考研是具有選拔功能的水平性考試。由于要選拔優秀人才，自然要考到大綱以外的生詞。但是2016考研的學生也不用太擔心，根據大綱規定，超綱詞匯在歷年真題中不超過3%，而且絕大部分是相對超綱詞匯。

v.捐助，贊助

【例1】If you subscribe to the newspaper, it’ll be delivered to your door.如果你訂閱這份報紙，它會被直接送到你門前。

【例2】I can’t subscribe to your plan because it is not reasonable.我不同意你的計劃，因為它不合理。

【構詞】sub-（下面）+scribe（寫）→寫下訂單→訂閱，訂購

【同義替換】agree; order, reserve; endow, donate

【派生】subscription n.訂閱；贊助；同意

【真題】Copyright rested with the journal publisher, and researchers seeking knowledge of the results would have to subscribe to the journal.版權屬于期刊出版商，而那些了解研究成果的研究者則必須訂閱該期刊。

★ vanish

vi.突然不見；消失

【例】The dark clouds hanging over the relations between the two countries will quickly vanish.籠罩著兩國關系的陰云將會迅速消散。

【構詞】van（空）+-ish→空無一物→消失

【例】In class, the professor taught the students how to use an adverb in the sentence.在課堂上，教授教學生們如何在句子里使用副詞。

v.要求；聲稱；索賠

n.要求；斷言；索賠

【例1】The government’s claim to be concerned about unemployment is sheer hypocrisy.政府聲稱的對失業的關注純屬做姿態。

【例2】I’m not quite familiar with the claim and arbitration in international trade.我對國際貿易的索賠與仲裁不夠熟悉。

【例1】It’s difficult to assign any reason for the failure.失敗的原因很難確定。

【例2】Observation, reason and experiment make up what we call the scientific method.觀察、推理和實驗，這些內容構成了我們所說的科學方法。
