在考研英語大綱中，明確規定了考生應該能夠理解主旨要義、理解文章的總體結構以及上下文之間的關系、區分論點和論據。由此可見，主題題目的重要性，而且抓住主題后，對于推理題甚至詞匯題都大有裨益。因此建議大家在做題目之前最好能夠對文章主題有個認識，今天老師就文章主題的把握進行闡述，希望對大家有所幫助。

拿到手文章之后，首先閱讀文章首段、一二段的交接處以及文章末段，重點關注這些段落的轉折、強調，之后再進行題目的解答，有的與主題相關的題目會做到速戰速決。

例一：Which of the following would be the best title for the text? A.Strain of stress: no way out? B.Responses of stress: gender difference C. Stress analysis: what chemicals say D. Gender inequality: women under stress.我們暫且不去看該題，首先閱讀文章首段、一二段的交接處以及文章末段: While still catching-up t omen in some spheres of modern life, women appear to be way ahead in at least one undesirable category.“ Women are particularly susceptible to developing depression and anxiety disorders inresponse to stress compared to men,” according to Dr.Yehuda, chief psychiatrist at New York’s Veteran’s Administration Hospital.

But most women today are coping with a lot of obligations, with few breaks, and feeling the strain.

由這幾段可以瀏覽出關鍵詞是women和stress，因此可以看出該文章在闡述男女在承受壓力方面的比對，而更加強調了女人承受了更多壓力因此選擇一個既包含對比又提及女人的答案，因此D是最佳選項，有同學誤選擇了B,錯誤在于只看到了對比的一方面，而忽略了更加重要的談論對象--女人。

同樣的推理題目，也是要注意主題大于細節，觀點大于論據。來看這樣一個題目What can we infer from the first three paragraphs? A.In both East and West, names are essential to success. B.The alphabet is to blame for the failure of Zoe Zysman. C.Customers often pay a lot attention to companies’ names. D.Some form of discrimination is too subtle to recognize.但看題目，B、C是最不能選的，因為很注意細節，而A選項雖然看似是結論但本身是個錯誤選項，因此D作為觀點是最佳、最正確的選項。

閱讀文章要有全局觀，不要在細枝末節上糾纏，同樣兩個選項，一個涉及細節一個涉及觀點結論，要選結論而非細節。希望大家今后在做題過程中先從主題上把握，再進行題目解答，相信應該對于提高正確率是很有幫助的。
