常規單詞積累一定要集中在2016考研復習的前期，否則到了復習后期無論是閱讀的復習還是翻譯的復習，都會遇到困難。同時，單詞記憶不能只記中文釋義，要掌握其常見用法、固定搭配，并且在能力范圍內利用詞根觸類旁通。考研對于詞匯的考查主要體現在考生“同義替換”的能力上，也就是考查考生對于語言多樣性的把握，所以考生在背單詞的時候一定要掌握單詞的同義詞。

ritual

a.宗教儀式的，典禮的   n.（宗教）儀式，典禮

【例】It tends to assume the form of a pagan religious ceremony, adapting itself to the forms and the ritual of the local church.它則趨向采取一種異教徒的宗教禮儀形式，并且使其適應于地方教堂的各種禮節和儀式。

【同義替換】ceremony, tradition, convention

【真題】They also focused on important rituals that appeared to preserve a people’s social structure, such as initiation ceremonies that formally signify children’s entrance into adulthood.

他們也關注一些看似保持以人為本的社會結構的重要儀式，比如說象征兒童正式進入成人期的啟蒙儀式。

exploit

v.開拓，開發；剝削  n.功績，業績

【例】The daring exploits of the parachutists were much admired.跳傘者大膽的冒險動作令人贊嘆不已。

【構詞】ex-（出）+ploit（利用）→挖出利用→開拓，開發

【同義替換】mine, develop; feats, contribution, achievement

【派生】exploitable a.可開發的；可利用的 exploitability n.可利用性，可剝削性

exploitation n.開發，開采；利用；剝削 exploitative a.剝削的；利用的

【真題】According to their latest paper published in Nature, the biomass of large predators ( animals that kill and eat other animals ) in a new fishery is reduced on average by 80% within 15 years of the start of exploitation.

根據他們發表在《自然》期刊上的最新論文，一個新的漁場中的大型食肉魚類的數量在海洋資源開發伊始的15年內就平均下降了80%。

transcend

v.超出，超越（經驗、知識、能力的范圍等）

【例】These issues transcend the limits of language study.這些問題超出了語言研究的范圍。

【構詞】trans-（前綴，表“超過”）+scend（=climb 爬、攀）→超越

【同義替換】surpass, go beyond

【派生】transcendent a.卓越的，至高無上的 transcendental a.超出人類知識、經驗或理性的；先驗的  transcendentalist n.先驗主義者

【真題】Ralph Waldo Emerson and other Transcendentalist philosophers thought schooling and rigorous book learning put unnatural restraints on children.

拉爾夫·瓦爾多·愛默生和其他先驗主義哲學家都認為學校教育和嚴格的書本學習限制了孩子們的天性。
