In the drawing, a girl carries a spade with a question where the water is in mind after digging out several holes futilely. As a matter of fact, the water is just beneath the holes the girl has dug out, but the girl stopped digging after several trials without success. How thought-provoking the drawing conveys!

We can see from the drawing that if the girl hasn’t given up digging after several futile trials, the scenery will be different. Pitifully, the girl didn’t persevere to the end.There is a maxim going like that: perseverance means victory. That is to say, it is perseverance that brings us to success. There are numerous examples in history. Take Edison, the American inventor, as an instance. Despite the failure of trying more than six thousand materials, he didn’t give up. Instead, he persevered until he found the right material to make light bulbs. If he didn’t persevere in his experiments after over six thousand failures, the invention of light bulbs would be postponed many years or longer.

Do we often give up after many times of failures? If yes, we are just like the hole-digging girl; if no, congratulations to you. Just as the saying goes: constant dropping wears the stone, please make perseverance in what deserves to be done.

在這幅圖畫中，一個女孩扛著一把鐵鍬，在挖了幾個坑以后，沒有見到水，在想水在哪兒呢?事實上，水就在女孩挖的坑的下面，但是這個女孩在挖了幾個坑卻沒見到水后停止了繼續(xù)挖下去。這幅畫傳遞的信息很是發(fā)人深省啊!

從圖畫中，我們可以看出如果這個女孩在幾次失敗以后，沒有放棄繼續(xù)挖下去的話，將會是另一番景象。令人可惜的是，這個女孩并沒有堅持到底。格言“堅持就是勝利”的意思是堅持帶我們走向成功。歷史上的例子比比皆是。以美國發(fā)明家愛迪生為例。盡管在試驗了6000多種材料后都失敗了，但是他沒有放棄。相反，他堅持下來了，直到找到制做電燈泡的合適材料。如果在多達6000次失敗后，他沒有堅持實驗，電燈泡的發(fā)明會推遲很多年甚至更長時間。

我們在生活中在經歷了多次失敗后是不是經常放棄呢?如果是的話，我們就像這個挖坑的女孩，如果不是的話，那恭喜你。正如一句諺語所說：滴水石穿，所以請在值得做的事情上堅持下去。
