本書(shū)是專門(mén)針對(duì)研究生階段英語(yǔ)教學(xué)的綜合型聽(tīng)力教材。共設(shè)20個(gè)單元，2個(gè)小測(cè)驗(yàn)和1個(gè)期末測(cè)試。20個(gè)單元主題分別涉及：語(yǔ)言、民族、環(huán)保、婚姻家庭、藝術(shù)、西方文化、法律、農(nóng)林、通訊交通、計(jì)算機(jī)和網(wǎng)絡(luò)、旅游、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文學(xué)、中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化、社會(huì)問(wèn)題、醫(yī)學(xué)健康、東盟、哲學(xué)、體育和教育。每個(gè)單元由5至6個(gè)部分組成，單元內(nèi)容主要包括：1個(gè)專題知識(shí)學(xué)習(xí)板塊（Preview），兩個(gè)課堂訓(xùn)練板塊（Section
A，B），兩個(gè)課外自習(xí)板塊（Section C，D），1個(gè)口語(yǔ)交際策略講練和1個(gè)課外娛樂(lè)環(huán)節(jié)。
本教材可供不同專業(yè)的研究生英語(yǔ)聽(tīng)說(shuō)教學(xué)使用，也可作為英語(yǔ)專業(yè)本科年級(jí)聽(tīng)力課程的輔導(dǎo)教材，同時(shí)適合具有較為扎實(shí)的英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)的外語(yǔ)愛(ài)好者或語(yǔ)言研究者參考使用。
