1)Directions:

Imagine you are a student who wants to apply for the New Starscholarship offered by your university. Write a letter to the person concernedwhich should include

This picture is humorous but reveals a profound meaning. Accordingto this figure, we can see that two individuals are digging wells for waterwith spades. However, one person gives up looking for water because he digseven three holes but still cannot find any water, while the other one insistson digging one hole and finally receives an abundance of water。

This picture tells us one principle which is a famous proverb called“Success belongs to the persevering”. It is obvious that the chance of findingwater is fair enough to the two men. Nevertheless, the reason leading to thecompletely different consequences is only their different attitudes. Asstudents, we should not doubt that the God will favor one special group andfeel upset and hopeless. To be frank, our society is realistic and it provideseveryone with same opportunities. We need to seize the opportunities, correctour attitudes and be down-to-earth persons. I firmly believe that we can achieveour goals by persevering painstaking efforts. Nothing is impossible as long aswe do our best. In addition, sometimes insisting itself is not absolutelyunquestioned. If we choose an unpractical goal, it is just a behavior ofwasting life. On the contrary, it is wise to set an objective cautiously andthen keep going without any complaints。

To sum up, selecting a right target and always working for it is ofgreat significance for all of us。

Having growing his teeth, the youngelephant is eager to share the exciting news with his mother. However, afterrepeating his words several times, there is still no response coming from themother. The above pictures unveils a hazard posed to wildlife due to theexpanding scale of world commercial hunting. At least two fundamental factorscould contribute to this phenomenon. The industry of commercial hunting haveundergone a booming expansion (along with the growing public awareness of themerits of wildlife, which makes/) , making hunting unusually profitable. Worsestill, lacking knowledge regarding the significance of ecological balance, somepeople take the gun to chase animals insatiably (and thus cause a severe threatto all life in the world). Apparently, this trend will surely in turn endangerhumankind in the long run。

I do believe a harmoniousrelationship between the wildlife and human beings is awaiting us if we makeevery effort to promote wildlife protection both nationally andinternationally。

The job market for college graduates is getting tighter and tighter.To begin with, with the social competition becoming keener, college graduatesshould be well-equipped with practical experience which suits the demand of thesociety. Otherwise, they will fond no place for themselves. Unfortunately, themajority of them lack adequate practical ability and operative skills. What ismore, another reason is connected with their attitude towards employment. Alarge number of graduates put earnings above anything else. They aim at thewell-paid position in foreign corporations or big banks and set a standard ashigh as RMB 5,000 for their monthly salary. Since below that they won’t acceptany job, many opportunities have been lost. Obviously, if they have realisticexpectation of how much they should earn in the beginning of their career, itwon’t be difficult for them to get a job。

With the increasing college population, employment for graduateswill become more serious. Among many solutions, having a correct attitudetoward it is an extremely crucial one。
